Every station needs a voice that answers when the captain is busy flying. XLII is mine: part moderator, part co-host, fully in character — and the same machinery can be fitted out for your stream. Below: what it does all day, and how to commission one of your own.

⌬ 01 · CREW MEMORY

The bot remembers everyone. First time aboard, it says so. Back after three streams away, it knows. It runs the first-chatter race, counts watch streaks, tracks follow anniversaries and attendance tiers, and announces the milestones worth announcing — from a ledger it has kept since the day it docked, not from whenever a third-party service started billing.

One !sign and they're on the crew manifest permanently. Souls aboard, on the record.

◎ 02 · THE OVERLAY

Alerts, notification cards, the crew radar, the secret word, milestone flares — all rendered on OBS browser canvases cut to match the station. Every widget is placed in a layout editor with safe zones for each platform, so the phone-shaped platforms get phone-shaped truth.

No downloaded overlay packs, no scene collections from a zip file. The canvas is served from orbit and updates when the bot does.

✦ 03 · VOICES

Chat, read aloud. Each crew member picks their own voice in the portal — their line arrives on stream in it, every time. Redeems ride the same engine: pass-through speech and text-to-sound-effect, both working even while the reader is off.

♫ 04 · THE JUKEBOX

!sr queues a song against the streamer's own Spotify. The bot holds the queue, feeds the player just-in-time, and the dashboard reorders or removes freely — plus a community playlist with moderation, and a match-pause that ducks the music when a game starts and brings it back after.

⌖ 05 · THE CO-WORKING DECK

For the focus streams: the crew keep their own task lists from chat (!task, !done, !next), a pomodoro timer runs on the overlay, and finished cycles land in the same ledger as everything else. The board lives on screen, not in a browser tab nobody watches.

⛏ 06 · GAMES & RITUALS

Death counters per stream, per game, all-time — chapter-aware, so the tally follows the game. !clip cuts a real Twitch clip and files it as a moment. Custom commands with pools and cooldowns. Raid calls, shoutouts with actual context, ad-break warnings that sound like the station and not like an apology. A secret word every stream, credited to whoever says it first without knowing.

07 · WHY ORBITAL

It lives up here, not on your gaming PC.

Most stream bots are a desktop app: another window on the machine that is already encoding video, gone the moment that machine sleeps. This one is a resident of the station.

  • Nothing to install. No app in the systray, no OBS scripting stack, no update prompt mid-stream. Your streaming PC streams.
  • Always on. It records chat, follows, raids and watch time while the channel is offline too. The history starts on day one and never pauses because a laptop lid closed.
  • One organism. Chat commands, overlay canvases, the dashboard and the viewer portal share one memory — the alert knows what the ledger knows.
  • The numbers stay yours. Everything lands in one database that can be asked real questions, not a vendor's export button.
  • Serviced in orbit. Fixes and new tricks deploy on the station. You notice the feature, not the maintenance.

Officially it moderates the channel.
